We're seeking interns for Season 10!

TAP is currently seeking interns for its upcoming 2021-2022 performance season! We are looking for creative, hard-working, and reliable interns with a passion for both community service and the performing arts. Eligible applicants will be ages 14-20 with an interest in non-profit work and learning the ropes behind managing a youth performance company.

TAP internships provide a hands-on experience in non-profit work within the DC metropolitan area to serve communities in need through song and dance. Interns will work closely with TAP's Artistic Staff and Board of Directors to meet the needs of the program throughout the entire performance season. Positions are unpaid, however, SSL hours are offered.

Open positions:

TAP Stage Management Intern

The Stage Management Intern will provide administrative help to the Artistic Staff and Board of Directors, from setting up and clearing out the rehearsal space, recording attendance and service hours, writing rehearsal reports, sending out cast reminders and notices, and assisting with rehearsal and performance schedules. The Stage Management Intern should be extremely organized, reliable, detail-oriented, outgoing, tech savvy, a good listener, able to speak in front of a group, and a positive teammate and role model. This intern should also be available for all Saturday rehearsals, all TAPestry performances and tech rehearsals, and the majority of roadshows throughout the season.

TAP Costumes Intern

The Costumes Intern will work closely with the Artistic Staff and Board of Directors to ensure all costumes needs are met. This includes, helping to organize and maintain costumes that are kept in inventory, gathering and keeping measurements for all cast members, assigning roadshow costumes to new members and collecting costumes pieces from old members, ordering and purchasing new costumes during TAPestry season, and providing costumes assistance at roadshows. The Costumes Intern should be creative, organized, a quick thinker and problem solver, someone who is always prepared, a team player, and a positive role model. Sewing abilities are a plus! This intern should be available for some Saturday rehearsals, all TAPestry performances and tech rehearsals, and the majority of roadshows throughout the season.
