Our story starts here.
Teen Angel Project (TAP) is the product of a dream a mother had to establish a group of teenage performers whose mission would be to bring joy to those in need, through song and dance. As a result, a group of like-minded parents whose children are passionate about musical theater met throughout June, July and August of 2012 to incorporate in the state of Maryland under the name “Outreach Song and Dance, Inc.” and to form the necessary legal and business framework for TAP to flourish for years to come.
TAP is a 501(c)(3) public charity program for middle and high school students whose mission is to donate joy to the community through song and dance.
Teen Angel Project is a performance company that consists of an elite group of talented students between grades 5 - 12, with a shared passion for performance and musical theater. TAP students are trained with utmost professionalism to master the art of performance through experience and accountability, in an effort to advance their skills as young and aspiring professionals.
Our performance ensembles, TAP Jr. and TAP Sr., perform up to 4 times each month at various venues, festivals, parades and events within the DC Metropolitan area. They are challenged to learn, rehearse and perform numbers from a wide range of musical genres, such as Vaudeville, to contemporary musical theater, to pop! Our students also learn to quickly master complex choreography that works to accentuate their talents and engage our audiences.
Students are also given the opportunity to perform in our annual studio/black box production, TAPestry, a musical revue with tickets available to families and the general public.
TAP also offers an introductory year, TAP-N-Training (TNT), to young students (grades 5 -6), who show a special interest in TAP's mission and potential to grow in their performance skills. TNT members shadow the members of TAP Jr. throughout their training year and then audition for official placement in TAP Jr. the following season.
Check out our aspiring stars who inspire lives one performance at a time.
